Outdoor Heaters

Outdoor heaters offer an ideal way of enjoying your backyard both on cooler days in spring and fall and on unexpected chilly summer nights. Whether you want to barbecue poolside, host a poolside soiree or relax outdoors, heaters are practical, quiet and increasingly affordable.

Outdoor heaters today typically use either natural gas or propane. Larger heaters resemble lampposts that have a base on the bottom of a pole and a top that is shaped like an umbrella. Some smaller versions sit low to the ground and some have been designed to sit on a table.

Outdoor heaters come in many color and are also usually made of stainless steel. Many feature wheels that adjust for easy mobility, and some include an automatic shut-off feature for safety.

Different heaters are equipped to warm up different areas and have various BTU outputs, which ultimately determine the heater's capability. You can find some with an output of 7,000 BTUs, while others can generate as much as 50,000 BTUs.

Table-top heaters start at around $120 while the taller lamppost versions start at around $199 and can go up to $1000 for those that are equipped with a lot of power and heating ability.
