Pool Furniture

Swimming pool furniture has certainly come a long way from the days when a plastic table and umbrella graced every pool owner's backyard. A perfect accent for any poolside, deck or patio, pool furniture can now be found in teak, cedar, wrought iron, aluminum, wicker and rattan and in various combinations of metal and wood.

Pool furniture should be durable, water resistant and resist sun damage. Some pool furniture sets come completely preassembled while others may require that you put them together.

Dining sets are available in aluminum, wrought iron, wicker and rattan and many have a matching umbrella for better sun protection. Some have round vinyl umbrellas with aluminum poles while others are Asian-inspired with woven fabric and wood frames. Some dining tables have metal or glass tops while chairs can have mesh fabric seating while others have removable seat and back cushions.

Some other popular furnishings:

Lounge chairs are great for reading or sunbathing. Chaise lounge chairs are perfect on a pool deck and are available in many colors and can be made of solid fabric or plastic bands.

Hammocks are a unique accessory that is perfect for relaxation or for a short power nap. Some hammocks come with free-standing frames while others can be fastened to trees. Hammocks come in colorful patterns made of solid fabrics while others are crocheted or braided using strong rope.

Tea carts are a great addition to any outdoor decor and can be used as a plant stand or to sit dishes or drinks on while you dine. Freestanding planters also make great accents around any pool.

Adirondack chairs are becoming ever more popular and are offered as a single chair or as a settee that can seat more than one person. Traditional Adirondack chairs are made of natural wood, although more affordable plastic reproductions are currently available.
